Japan's Orix Golf Management Corporation announced on Thursday it has completed a 13.7-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Shimane prefecture.
The PV plant is comprised of 50,688 solar panels spread over an area of 565,700 sq m in a golf course in Izumo city. The facility is expected to generate some 14.18 million kWh of electricity per year, enough to meet the annual demand of about 3,930 local households.
This is Orix Golf's fourth operational solar plant. The company expects these facilities to generate a total of 18.17 million kWh, which is enough to meet the consumption of 5,050 ordinary households, it said.
