October 18 (Renewables Now) - Denmark-based renewables investor and asset manager Obton said on Tuesday it has agreed to acquire a stake of an undisclosed size in a 50-MWp solar portfolio in Italy.

The company is now one of the two main shareholders in the portfolio, which also includes certain Italian institutional investors. Obton will be taking part in the project investment committee that is in charge of the operation of these solar assets, it said.

The portfolio consists of plants that went online in 2011. They are located in the southern part of the country, primarily in the Apulia region.

Obton’s growing portfolio now exceeds 300 MWp, according to managing director Anders Marcus.
