October 5 (Renewables Now) - Japanese firm NTT Facilities Inc announced today it has completed a 17.7-MW solar power plant in Iwate prefecture.

Located in Oshu city, the park has an estimated annual generation of 17,210 MWh, enough to supply 4,800 local homes.

Construction of the photovoltaic (PV) facility began on May 11, 2015 and power generation started on August 1, 2017, the subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (TYO:9432) said in its press release.

This is NTT's 76th PV park in the country. Back in July, it also completed a 8.8-MW PV plant in Wakayama prefecture.
