to-the-point: NTT breaks ground on 15-MW PV plant in Ibaraki

December 7 (Renewables Now) - Japanese firm NTT Facilities Inc today said it has started construction of a 15.4-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Ami city, Ibaraki prefecture.

NTT Facilities, a subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (TYO:9432), said the solar farm should start selling power in early March 2019.

The F Ami II Solar Power Plant, as the project is named, will be producing an estimated 19,084 MWh of electricity per year, enough to meet the demand of 5,300 local households.

Earlier this week, NTT anounced its plans to built a 2-MW solar plant, also in Ibaraki prefecture.
