to-the-point: New renewable CHP tender starts in Germany

October 12 (Renewables Now) - Germany has started its second tender for innovative combined heat and power (CHP) projects that can use renewable heat sources such as heat pumps, solar thermal and geothermal energy.

The innovative CHP tenders in Germany are to help determine the role of CHP plants in decarbonising power and heat supply. This one aims to award contracts to 29.1 MW of projects.

The Federal Network Agency, or the Bundesnetzagetur, has also announced the start of its third regular CHP tender with a volume of 76.8 MW. Details on both tenders are available in the table.
