to-the-point: Midsummer bags repeat orders for solar machinery

Swedish solar technology company Midsummer AB said today that an undisclosed customer has purchased two additional DUO thin-film solar cell manufacturing systems.

This is a repeat order by that client, who decided to buy additional systems because of strong demand for flexible copper indium gallium (di)selenide (CIGS) modules, Midsummer said in a press release, without disclosing the value of the contracts.

The company will manufacture the equipment at its factories outside Stockholm, Sweden. Deliveries are scheduled for the end of this year.

“Our DUO system is now the most widely spread manufacturing tool for flexible CIGS solar cells in the world”, said Sven Lindstrom, CEO, Midsummer AB.
