to-the-point: Mexico CFE to publish terms for 585-MW wind project in July
Mexican state-run power utility Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) said Monday it plans to publish the preliminary bidding terms for the 585-MW Sureste II and III wind project in July 2015.
The wind plants will be installed in the Ixtepec municipality, Oaxaca, and should start commercial operation in December 2017. The investment is estimated at USD 1.08 billion (EUR 968.5m), the company said, confirming previous media reports.
The utility announced auctions for a total 24 energy projects on Monday, including gas pipelines, 1,442 MW of new capacity, power transmission and distribution infrastructure.
