Japanese renewable energy firm SB Energy Corp said on Wednesday it will install a 32.3-MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the city of Yusui, Kagoshima Prefecture.
The solar system is expected to commence commercial operations by fiscal 2017. The Japanese company, the clean energy arm of SoftBank Corp (TYO:9984), estimates that the solar photovoltaic (PV) farm will produce enough power to meet the annual demand of more than 10,000 local homes.
Japan aims to connect 28 GW of solar capacity to the national grid in the next five years.
