Italian investors will build 500 MW of renewable energy plants in Iran over the next five years under a new cooperation between the two countries, news agency IRNA said on Tuesday, quoting an official.
Alireza Da’emi, Iran’s deputy energy minister for planning and economic affairs, said as cited by the news agency that Italy and Iran have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the project during a visit to Tehran by an Italian delegation including prime minister Matteo Renzi.
A few days earlier local media reported that Germany plans to invest some EUR 170 million (USD 193m) in a project to build a solar cell and panel factory in Iran.
