InterGen will sell its assets in Mexico, with a formal sales process to be launched shortly, the global power generator said today.
The assets include the 155-MW Energia Sierra Juarez wind farm, owned equally with partner IEnova, that started operations in 2015.
InterGen, which is jointly owned by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan and China Huaneng Group/Guangdong Yudean Group, has more than 2.2 GW in operation in Mexico with six combined cycle gas turbine plants across the country. The portfolio includes the new 220-MW San Luis de la Paz combined cycle plant. The company also owns three compression stations and a 65-km (40 mile) gas pipeline.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Barclays have been engaged to oversee the process.
