The contract was awarded to BHEL by Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) and concerns the construction of a PV power facility at the Gujarat Solar Park in Charanka. It is BHEL’s largest solar project to date and expands the company’s portfolio to 545 MW, according to a press statement.
BHEL noted it is currently working on more than 150 MW of ground-mounted and rooftop solar PV projects across India. In addition to serving as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for solar projects, the company is also engaged in the production of PV cells and modules.
