Florida Power & Light Co (FLP) said on Wednesday construction is progressing according to plan for eight solar parks with a combined capacity of almost 600 MW.
The utility, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Inc (NYSE:NEE), has over 335 MW of solar parks in Florida. It has a target of adding almost 2,100 MW of PV capacity between 2017 and 2023, including the 600 MW under construction. Each of the photovoltaic (PV) plants will have a capacity of 74.5 MW.
The eight projects are presently in different stages of early construction. Four of them are planned to be completed by end-2017, while the rest are expected to become operational by the beginning of March 2018.
