to-the-point: First turbine blade shipped to 306-MW wind farm in Mexico

May 28 (Renewables Now) - US power company AES Corp (NYSE:AES) said on Friday that the first turbine blade had arrived at the construction site of its 306-MW Mesa La Paz wind farm in Mexico.

The blade for the project has been manufactured in Mexico, AES tweeted. The turbine supply job went to Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) which will install a total of 85 units.

The wind farm is backed by a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with Fuentes de Energia Penoles SA de CV, part of metals producer Industrias Penoles SA de CV.
