January 14 (SeeNews) - Next year Ethiopia will break ground on three photovoltaic (PV) plants of 100-MW each as part of a plan by its Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity (MWIR), Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) reported.
The solar parks are estimated to require a combined investment of USD 630 million (EUR 576.6m), MWIR public relations and communication director, Bizuneh Tolcha, was quoted as saying. The facilities will be located in Semera and Awash Arba, Afar regional state.
At present, MWIR is working on the requirements for choosing the project developers, according to the report.
