October 25 (Renewables Now) - Portuguese utility EDP (ELI:EDP) announced today it has secured a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 200-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the US state of California.

Through its 82.6%-owned local renewables subsidiary, EDP Renewables North America LLC, the company will sell the output of this solar park to an unnamed buyer.

Expected to go online in 2022, the plant will bring the company's solar capacity build-out to 1.1 GW. EDP further noted that including this latest contract, the company has now secured 67% of its targeted wind and solar global capacity build-out of 7 GW for 2019-2022.
