March 7 (Renewables Now) - The Ecuadorian minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Elsy Alexandra Parodi has announced her resignation on Tuesday.
Ruben Dario Barreno Ramos will take the lead as the new minister.
No specific reason for the resignation was mentioned in the government press release which stated that Parodi's mandate was marked by a series of accomplishments, including reducing rates for the industrial sector and commitment to rural and marginal urban electrification programmes, the government said.
Parodi, which took the post in December 2017, wrote in her Twitter account that the electricity sector in Ecuador is very "complex, not only in technical terms but also with its political and economical implications."
Dios bendiga a nuestro país.
