to-the-point: DTEK, CMEC to build 200-MW solar park in Ukraine

April 12 (Renewables Now) - Ukrainian energy group DTEK has signed a deal with China Machinery Engineering Co (CMEC) for the design and construction of a 200-MW solar power plant in Ukraine.  

The agreement was signed on Friday last week as part of a round table called Chinese investments in the development of energy in Ukraine and organised by the SilkLink association.

The EUR-230-million (USD 283m) Nikopol solar project is located near the city of Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region. Construction will start this month and is scheduled to be completed by end-2018.

CMEC will be an investor and contractor for the construction of the facility, DTEK said.
