to-the-point: Daiwa Securities wraps up 9-MW solar park in Hokkaido

Japanese firm Daiwa Securities Group Inc (TYO:8601) has officially completed a 8.97-MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in the country’s northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido.

The solar farm is scheduled to initiate commercial operations on December 2, according to a statement published by the company’s unit Daiwa PI Partners Co on Thursday.

The PV park is located at an industrial park in Sorachi Subprefecture’s city of Iwamizawa. It is estimated to be able to generate enough electricity to power approximately 2,800 local households, the company calculates.

Daiwa Securities will continue seeking new business opportunities on the domestic energy market.
