June 9 (Renewables Now) - State-owned company China Huayang Economic and Trade Group Co has entered into a solar project development partnership with Canada-based SkyPower Global, the latter announced on Wednesday.

China Huayang has chosen SkyPower to be its partner when it comes to the development, construction and operation of utility-scale solar projects in key strategic markets around the world. A particular focus will be the so-called Belt and Road regions.

Weiwen Cheng, CEO of China Huayang’s international financial arm Huayang International Capital Holdings, commented that the company plans to use the alliance to help promote trade and requisite financing.

“Huayang intends to set up a multi-billion US dollar special purpose fund to achieve this important strategic initiative for the projects of this partnership with SkyPower,” said Cheng.
