to-the-point: CEO buys more REC Silicon shares

July 4 (Renewables Now) - The president and CEO of REC Silicon ASA (OSE:REC), Tore Torvund, has spent some NOK 210,450 (USD 25,900/EUR 22,277) on more shares in the polysilicon and silicon gas supplier.

Torvund has bought 300,000 shares at NOK 0.7015 apiece, thus raising the total number held by him to a bit over 1.63 million. Based on a share capital of some 2.54 million shares, his stake in the company amounts to 0.064%.

Just recently, REC Silicon announced it will cut about 100 jobs in the US because of the country's on-going solar trade dispute with China.
