to-the-point: Brazil's Centre-South sells 711m litres hydrous ethanol in 2 weeks

Brazil's hydrous ethanol producers sold 710.82 million litres (187.77m gallons) in the Centre-South region during the first half of August, local sugarcane industry association Unica said on Tuesday.

Anhydrous ethanol producers, meanwhile, sold about 423.15 million litres in the first two weeks of August.

Total ethanol sales in the period were of 1.15 billion litres, of which 21.41 million litres were for export and 1.13 billion litres for the domestic market.

With regards to output, 818.7 million litres of anhydrous ethanol were produced in the first fortnight of August, while hydrous hit 1.11 billion litres. As a result, total production decreased by 11.73% on the year.
