Brazilian power sector watchdog Aneel has authorised four wind farms with a combined capacity of 87 MW to start commercial operations.

The Itarema plants are based in Ceara state and part of the 207-MW Itarema Complex, owned by local firm Rio Energy. The projects were secured during an energy auction held in 2013.
