to-the-point: Bolivia, Germany agree cooperation on renewables

November 5 (SeeNews) - Bolivia will receive German cooperation in the field of renewable energy, including training and technology transfer in wind and solar energy.

The agreements from Wednesday include a loan of EUR 20 million (USD 21.8m) for a rural agriculture programme in Bolivia and a EUR-23-million donation from the German government for technical assistance and training in wind and solar energy, water management and lithium.

The countries also agreed on cooperation in justice and mining at a meeting between Bolivian President Evo Morales and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin.

Siemens AG (ETR:SIE) will provide technical assistance in turbines and combined cycles for Bolivia's thermal plants in Santa Cruz and Tarija.
