Brazilian power holding Neoenergia SA (BVMF:GNAN3B) approved on Friday a BRL-274.8-million (USD 84m/EUR 75m) loan from the Brazilian Development Bank, or BNDES.
The majority of the money will be used for the 30-MW Calango 6 wind farm, contracted during the June 2014 energy auction. The park is located at a site in Rio Grande do Norte state where construction work started earlier this year, according to Neoenergia's website.
Around BRL 1.37 million of the total will be allocated for investment of social type. Under the deal, Neoenergia's first payment is due on August 15, 2017 and the last on July 15, 2033.
