July 4 (Renewables Now) - German firm Blue Elephant Energy AG (BEE) has bought a 26-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) portfolio in Italy from an investment fund managed by London-based Abraxas Capital Management Ltd.

Per UK law firm Watson Farley & Williams (WFW), which advised the buyer on the deal, the portfolio consists of five special purpose vehicles that own seven solar farms between them. The projects are in operation in the regions of Puglia, Lazio, Sicily, Marche and Abruzzo in Italy.

BEE is based in Hamburg from where it operates a portfolio comprising 508 MW of wind and solar parks.
