to-the-point: BayWa re brings live 41-MWp solar park in France

January 11 (Renewables Now) - Munich-based BayWa re renewable energy GmbH said on Thursday it has commissioned its 41-MWp Lacs Medocains solar park in southwestern France.

The company, which is the renewables arm of German diversified group BayWa AG (ETR:BYW6), has completed the project on schedule and now plans to secure a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for the output of the plant.

The photovoltaic (PV) park is situated near the city of Bordeaux, Gironde department, and is expected to generate electricity equal to the consumption of about 20,000 homes. The facility is part of an environmental programme and will be also used as an educational tool, BayWa re said.
