to-the-point: ABB supplies tech for floating PV array in Singapore

Swiss power and automation group ABB (VTX:ABBN) said today it had provided critical components for a 1-MW floating solar photovoltaic (PV) test-bed in Singapore.

The company unveiled it has delivered 100 kW of TRIO-50 solar inverters to German large-scale solar developer Phoenix Solar AG (ETR:PS4), which was one of several system integrators for the project. ABB has also provided low-voltage molded case and miniature circuit breakers that protect the electrical circuits on the water.

The test-bed, located in the Tengeh Reservoir in the western part of the country, measures 1 hectare (2.47 acres). The electricity generated at the site will be fed into the national energy grid.
