US solar developer 8minutenergy Renewables LLC plans to realise over 2 GW of utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects in Texas, it said on Tuesday.
The company formally expanded its activities into the Lone Star State by recently opening an office in Houston, from where it seeks to drive the targeted projects, it announced.
“We captured nearly 15 percent market share in California, which is one of the toughest solar markets in the world. We are excited to replicate our proven model and execution-oriented approach in Texas,” said Martin Hermann, 8minutenergy’s CEO and founder.
The firm’s entire North American pipeline includes more than 5 GW of projects that are currently being developed.
