December 10 (Renewables Now) - Tenders seeking to award contracts worth GBP 13.2 million (USD 16.7m/EUR 14.6m) for the supply and installation of solar and energy storage facilities have been launched in England and Scotland.
According to a notice in the EU’s Tenders Electronic Daily (TED), the Halton Borough Council in North West England is awaiting bids by January 17, 2019 for the design, construction, operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 1-MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) park at a former golf course. The contract has an estimated total value of GBP 1.2 million.
The design and installation of the solar plant will take about eight months. The subsequent O&M works will last two years, but seven three-year extensions will be possible.
In a separate tender, Scottish Water is looking for contractors for the supply and installation of PV and energy storage equipment, including front of or behind-the-metre installations. Proposals are due by January 22, 2019. The combined value of this contract is estimated at GBP 11 million. This is without VAT.
Scottish Water said it expects to appoint multiple suppliers to "provide a cost effective and efficient service".
