Tenaska installs first module at 130-MW solar project in California
Oct 26, 2012 - Tenaska Solar Ventures on Thursday celebrated the installation of the first photovoltaic (PV) panel at the 130-MW Imperial South project in California, local media reported.
The project, located near El Centro, Imperial County, will consist of almost 2 million modules that will generate enough power to supply around 44,000 households. The solar park is expected to begin operating commercially in the second half of 2013.
Local utility San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) is to buy power produced by the facility under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
Tenaska Solar Ventures is a solar power system developer and an affiliate of US power producer Tenaska Energy Inc.
