Taiwan’s top three photovoltaic (PV) cell makers, namely Neo Solar Power Corp (TPE:3576), Motech Industries Inc (TPO:6244) and Gintech Energy Corp (TPE:3514), all booked higher October revenues in 2015 than a year back.
On a month-on-month basis, the results of Motech and Gintech went slightly up by 1.76% and 0.6%, respectively. In the meantime, Neo Solar’s revenues surged by roughly 27.29% over September, thanks to growth in market demand for its products coupled with growing average selling prices (ASP) for solar cells.

Among the three leaders in Taiwan’s solar cell industry, only Neo Solar’s January-October 2015 sales declined as compared to the same ten months of last year. Looking forward, Taiwan's number one for 2014 said it is still optimistic about the development of the global solar industry, thanks to China’s revised 150-GW target for 2020 and the long-term policies in the US, Japan and emerging markets.

Last year, companies in Taiwan sold over 10 GW of solar cells, marking a 20% year-on-year increase, according to data by local research firm EnergyTrend. Neo Solar was responsible for 22% of that, while Motech and Gintech ranked second and third with 16% and 15% shares, accordingly. Last week, the latter agreed to ship some 200 MW of modules to Europe under a new alliance with Martifer Solar.
