Taiwan’s top three photovoltaic (PV) cell makers -- Neo Solar Power Corp (TPE:3576), Motech Industries Inc (TPO:6244) and Gintech Energy Corp (TPE:3514) -- all booked higher August revenues in 2015 than a year back.
On a month-on-month basis, however, the results of Motech and Gintech declined slightly by 0.62% and 3%, respectively. In the meantime, Neo Solar’s revenues grew by roughly 15.51% over July, thanks to a gradual increase in market demand for its products coupled with higher average selling prices (ASP) for solar cells.

Looking forward, Taiwan's number one for 2014, Neo Solar, said it is optimistic about the development of the global solar industry, thanks to China’s 17.8-GW target, the new Clean Power Plan in the US and long-term policies in emerging markets such as India, among other factors.
Last year, companies in Taiwan sold over 10 GW of solar cells, marking a 20% year-on-year increase, according to data by local research firm EnergyTrend. Neo Solar was responsible for 22% of that, while Motech and Gintech ranked second and third with 16% and 15% shares, accordingly.
