Sweden's Midsummer wins repeat order for CIGS solar machine

Swedish company Midsummer AB today said it has received a repeat order for its compact DUO system for the manufacturing of thin-film copper, indium, gallium and selenium (CIGS) solar cells from an undisclosed Asian customer.

The new order came after Midsummer's first machine at the customer's production site showed efficiency of the solar cells of more than 15%. This was two percentage points above the promised specification, the Swedish company said.

The second system is due to be delivered in the middle of 2017. It will be used for the production of lightweight flexible panels to meet the growing demand for portable panels and rooftop installations, Midsummer added.
