Swedbank Robur's new fund to focus on energy transition

Swedbank Robur, part of Swedish lender Swedbank (STO: SWED-A), on Monday announced a new fund that will invest in solar, wind and other green energy solutions.

The fund, Transition Energy, has been created following the transformation of Swedbank Robur's Ravarufond, in line with the fund management company’s climate strategy. It will invest in established companies and new faster-growing firms supporting the energy transition.

“The link between profitability and sustainability is strong, and we see that there are very good investment opportunities and a good return potential in the energy transition theme. By investing capital in related companies, we can support businesses and industries to change, while at the same time creating long-term value for our customers and society,” Robert Slorach, portfolio manager at Swedbank Robur, said.

Transition Energy will be a fund with a global focus. Swedbank Robur says the need for investment to support a climate-neutral world is quite substantial.
