Suntech to supply 39 MW of solar panels to EDP Renovaveis
Oct 8, 2012 - Chinese solar panel maker Suntech Power Holdings (NYSE:STP) said Monday it had won a contract to supply 39 MW of polycrystalline solar panels to Portuguese green power firm EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR).
The panels will be installed at four new projects that are currently being developed by EDP in Romania. The solar farms are expected to be commissioned in late 2012 and early 2013.
Last week Chinese media reported that Suntech had received a USD-32-million (EUR 25m) syndicated loan arranged by the government of China's Jiangsu province. The financing was aimed at supporting the company cope with the consequences of the US anti-dumping tariffs and the EU's anti-dumping investigations into China's solar exports.
