Suntech in Japan gets O&M deal for 5-MW Lixil PV farm

Suntech Power Japan Co Ltd last week said it has secured a contract to provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a 5.2-MW solar plant of local from Lixil Corp.

Located in Chita City, Aichi Prefecture, the LIXIL Chita Solar Power plant has been in operation since 2016. Spread over an area of 52,330 sq m, this photovoltaic (PV) farm is comprised of 13,380 solar panels supplied by Chinese Wuxi Suntech Power Co Ltd, and 4,464 by another firm.

According to the company's press release, Suntech is also providing O&M services for two other Lixil's facilities -- the 8-MW Sukagawa and 5.8-MW Ariake plants in Fukushima and Kumamoto prefectures, respectively.

Suntech Power Japan started offering O&M services back in 2015 and has secured contracts for a total of 15 solar power plants, with a combined capacity of 36.4 MW.
