Sunlabob, Relitec unveil renewables partnership in Myanmar
May 27, 2014 - Laos-based Sunlabob Renewable Energy said yesterday it had entered into a partnership with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installer Relitec to address the increasing demand for clean energy in Myanmar.
Sunlabob did not give information about any future projects. The company noted that just 4% of Myanmar’s rural population has electricity, according to estimates.
“Sunlabob’s experience implementing rural, off-grid renewable energy throughout the developing world will complement Relitec’s on-the-ground knowledge of the local Myanmar market”, said Sunlabob CEO Andy Schroeter.
Set up in 2000, Sunlabob has done business in over 20 countries in Southeast Asia, Africa and the Pacific islands region.
