Sterling and Wilson negotiating EPC contracts for 300 MW of PV in Vietnam

Indian engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor Sterling and Wilson announced today it intends to build 300 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in Vietnam by June 2019.

The company said it is currently holding advanced discussions with “leading developers” in Vietnam in an effort to secure these job opportunities. It added that the projects are expected to attract an investment of USD 250 million (EUR 203m).

The EPC contractor anticipates to create jobs for 600-700 people during construction and 50 during the 20-year maintenance phase.

Sterling and Wilson is currently building a 1,177-MWp solar plant in Abu Dhabi and is also working on projects in Zambia, Egypt, Namibia, Niger, Jordan, Argentina and Morocco. In the Southeast Asia region, the company has over 50 MWp of PV plants that are already operational in the Philippines and a 60-MWp project in the commissioning phase in Bangladesh.
