After being allowed to enter REIDI, the domestic arm of Norwegian state-owned utility Statkraft AS will invest BRL 291.8 million (USD 57.2m/EUR 51.2m) to construct the plant, saving over BRL 10 million. Serra da Mangabeira will break ground by July 1, 2023 with full commercial operation planned for January 1, 2025.

To be located in Brotas de Macaubas municipality, Bahia state, the wind park will consist of 18 turbines with 4.2 MW of individual capacity. It also has the status of priority projects which is needed to speed up its implementation.

REIDI, launched in 2007, grants tax incentives to companies investing in infrastructure projects within the transport, energy, sanitation and irrigation sectors.
