January 7 (Renewables Now) - US private investor Starwood Energy Group Global LLC and Energy Management Inc have completed the sale of a 14.4-MW solar project in New Jersey to Consolidated Edison Development Inc.

The capacity is given in direct current (DC).

The Lakehurst project is under construction at military base Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, located in central New Jersey. A Starwood affiliate and an affiliate of Boston-based Energy Management developed the project as part of the Air Force's Enhanced Use Lease programme. Under the programme, the military partners with private developers to optimise real assets and achieve long-term energy security.

Consolidated Edison Development, part of Consolidated Edison Inc (NYSE:ED), develops utility-scale solar and wind projects across the US.
