Sustainable Power Group, also known as sPower, has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for its 10-MW sPower Western Antelope Dry Ranch project in Lancaster, California.
The Salt Lake City-based solar power producer has entered into the off-take contract with electricity provider Lancaster Choice Energy, according to a press release on Monday.
The 10-MW solar park will enter the construction phase in mid-2016 and is expected to be completed by the end of that year. The developer estimates it will need 75 to 80 workers to build the plant.
Upon completion, the solar power station will consist of about 41,000 photovoltaic (PV) modules mounted on a tracking system and capable of generating enough electricity to cover the annual electricity consumption of more than 1,800 local homes.
