September 24 (Renewables Now) - US renewable energy generator sPower announced today it has completed the acquisition of a 55-MW DC solar plant in Idaho state.

Located in Kuna County, the Idaho Solar 1 photovoltaic (PV) plant has been online since late 2016. Its output is sold to Idaho Power Company under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

This is sPower’s first operating project purchase since AES Corp (NYSE:AES) and Canada's Alberta Investment Management Corp (AIMCo) acquired the company in 2017.

Through its sPower Services arm, the firm now operates 1,300 MW DC, generating more than 10 GWh a day, sPower CEO Ryan Creamer stated. The company will continue to pursue future acquisitions of both wind and solar assets at all stages of development and in operation, the company said.
