Spire Corp bags more solar simulator orders in China
Spire Corp (NASDAQ:SPIR), the US company that makes machinery for the photovoltaic (PV) industry, Monday unveiled solar simulators orders from a number of tier-one companies in China.
The firm has completed shipments of multiple solar simulators and expects to deliver more equipment in the coming months under newly received contracts. Thanks to its distributor in China -- Servo Dynamics Co, the company has sold 180 simulators in several years.
“Module manufacturers understand that module revenues, sold on a per-watt basis, suffer from inaccurate power measurements from less accurate test equipment,” commented president and CEO, Rodger LaFavre.
The company’s recent deliveries to customers in China include the workhorse SPI-SUN SIMULATORTM 4600SLP, the enhanced accuracy SPI-SUN SIMULATORTM 5600SLP and the advanced SPI-SUN SIMULATORTM 5600SLP Blue with spectrally matched content from 300-nm to 400-nm wavelengths, Spire noted.
