May 21 (Renewables Now) - Spanish solar company Grupo Solaer has commissioned three solar photovoltaic (PV) parks with 15 MWp of combined capacity in Toledo, Spain, it said on Wednesday.

All three plants were developed as merchant projects with no auction support, according to a press release.

The facilities, named Torrijos Norte, Torrijos Sur and Escalonilla Oeste, have 5 MWp of capacity each. Their commissioning took place between May 14 and May 20.

The Torrijos plants needed 15,120 PV modules per project, while Escalonilla Oeste is equipped with 18,504 modules mounted on single-axis trackers.

Solaer estimates each of them will generate around 9,946 MWh per year, or enough to meet consumption needs of some 2,800 households.
