Spain's Elecnor to build 30-MW wind farm in Mexico

Spanish construction and engineering company Elecnor SA (BME:ENO) announced today it has secured a contract to build a 30-MW wind park in the Mexican state of Baja California.

As part of the USD-17.8-million (EUR 16m) award, the European company will take responsibility for the engineering and construction of roads, wind turbine platforms, substations, transmission and communications lines, among other tasks.

Located in an area of approximately 250 hectares within the San Matias community, the San Matias Wind Farm Project, as it is named, will consist of eight 3.8-MW wind turbines, Elecnor said in its press release.

The wind farm will be monitored and managed from within its electrical substation. San Matias has been led by Spanish Banco Sabadell (BME:SAB) through its wholly-owned subsidiary Sinia Renovables and its local unit Fuerza Eolica de San Matias.
