July 4 (Renewables Now) - Global independent power producer (IPP) Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Norwegian state-owned utility Statkraft AS to deliver electricity from its 50-MW solar farm in Spain.

Announcing the PPA today, Sonnedix said today it has already started supplying the contracted power under the 9.5-year agreement.

The electricity is generated by the Sonnedix Galisteo solar PV farm located in Caceres province, in the region of Extremadura.

"This is our second PPA signed with Statkraft in the past couple of years, and we look forward to continuing doing business with them in the near future", said Sonnedix CEO Axel Thiemann.

Galisteo is one of two solar farms that Sonnedix bought ACS Servicios, Comunicaciones y Energia at the end of 2021.

Sonnedix highlights that it has over 1.6 GW of utility-scale solar PV projects in operation, under construction or in development in Spain.
