Soltec to supply trackers for 234 MW of Statkraft's solar projects in Spain

Soltec trackers supplied in Spanish plant

June 29 (Renewables Now) - Spanish solar tracker maker Soltec Power Holdings SA (BME:SOL) said Tuesday that it has signed a contract with Norway’s Statkraft A/S to supply its products for 234 MW solar PV projects in Cadiz province, Spain.

The contract covers the supply of Soltec’s SF7 bifacial trackers for four projects -- Arenosas, El Yarte and La Guita in the municipality of San Jose del Valle, and Malabrigo in Jerez de la Frontera.

All four sites were originally developed by UK firm Solarcentury, before the Norwegian renewables company acquired it in late November 2020 and retired the Solarcentury brand this spring.

In December, Solarcentury announced it had obtained construction permits for Arenosas, Malabrigo and El Yarte, saying at the time each project would have 50 MWp of capacity. The construction was expected to commence in the first quarter of 2021.

According to Soltec, the project execution is scheduled for 2021.
