November 15 (Renewables Now) - Spanish solar trackers maker Soltec Power Holdings SA (BME:SOL) announced on Friday that it will build a 5-MW solar distributed generation (DG) plant in the region of Murcia, south-eastern Spain, using a self-developed kit.

The Solarfighter kit, launched in March 2021, is an all-in-one product consisting of solar farm equipment and a comprehensive service for commissioning DG projects of up to 12 MW, Soltec said.

The kit features Soltec's SF7 solar trackers and PV modules, with plant installation, customer service and product warranty also included in the package.

The first solar farm using the Solarfighter model will be built on a 9-hectare (22.2 acres) site in the village of Los Martinez del Puerto. There, Soltec will install 174 SF7 solar trackers and 10,440 modules.

The project represents an important step towards Soltec's entry into the solar DG market, the company added.
