August 20 (Renewables Now) - US independent power producer Soltage LLC and investment manager Harrison Street have jointly invested in a 20-MW solar portfolio across the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Maine.

The particular portfolio includes community solar assets and Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA) solar projects, serving customers such as investor-owned utilities that purchase electricity via PURPA contracts and local businesses looking to meet clean energy goals.

The investment was made by Harrison Street and Soltage’s Iris vehicle, which will ultimately seek to deploy 450 MW of new distributed solar and storage projects across the US. That partnership’s first investment was a 14.5-MW solar portfolio with USD 30 million (EUR 25.7m) in project costs.
