SolarWorld adds 6 US states to Freedom financing scheme
Aug 1, 2013 - German solar products maker SolarWorld AG (ETR:SWV) said on Wednesday it had extended its Freedom financing programme, aimed at boosting the adoption of American-made solar products, to six more US states.
Residential solar clients in the states of Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts and New Jersey will now be able to take advantage of the scheme, which is already available to customers in California. SolarWorld's Freedom programme gives homeowners the opportunity to install a solar power system at their property in return for a low monthly bill, thus lowering their electricity bills.
The plan is sold together with SolarWorld's photovoltaic (PV) products, which feature equipment, installation, system monitoring, insurance and maintenance services for a 20-year period.
The SolarWorld Freedom Plan was launched in February and is expected to be expanded to Arizona and New York in the following months.
